Gwinnett County Firefighter Craig Samples
Craig and I worked together at Station 14
We worked many diferent calls saving lives and property, however
this one would be a little different.
We responded to a working house fire
on Sycamore Rd in Sugar Hill. This would be Craigs last day fighting fires,
soon he would be fighting another fire inside his body.
After returning from that call he sadly ask to be moved
to some type of non emergency work.
He was concerned that his coordination had deteriorated to the point where
one of his fellow firefighters might get hurt because of him.
He knew someting was wrong with his body
but we didn't know until later it would turn out to be ALS
That was a sad day I'll never forget.
